I like it when my day starts with some good news. In this case,
I’m talking about actress Ellen Page’s speech at Time to Thrive Conference yesterday.
Our society and media is, unfortunately, still in that phase
where the fact that someone publicly admits they’re gay makes headline news and
gets people talking whether or not they knew
the person in question was gay. Gaydar jokes follow.
However, for me personally (and probably for others who actually
heard what she said, apart from
saying that she’s gay), this speech represents a tribute to all activists
working hard to make this world a place we all deserve.
Thank you, Ellen, for reminding us how important it is to actively
participate in the fight!
