News Of The Day: Milan Fashion Week - Greenpeace Action

Fashion industry has long been one of the biggest and most powerful industries in the world. Even though I personally never understood the point of it, I surely see the great potential one such industry has, especially when it comes to important issues, such as environment or child labor

(greenpeace.org)
However, while many big brands already have taken action to “go detox” and produce fine, organic clothing, without any harmful chemicals, some of them are still living in the past. One of such brands is Versace.

Greenpeace has started a campaign during Milan Fashion Week, in order to motivate all of these high-fashion brands to stop living in the past and make difference. Support the cause!

News Of The Day - Kiev Calling

BBC

The Guardian

Reuters

Whenever there is a big protest or a revolution, such as in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and now – Ukraine, there are always different sides of the story, some conspiracy theories and off course – biased media. That means that, without being in the country, you can’t really know which truth is the truth.

However, people dying, whatever the cause, is something we should always react to and try to stop and prevent.

Help Ukraine!

Update 20/2: I came across this video, and it brought tears to my eyes... Not only because of the harsh truth this brave young woman is sharing with the world, but also because I felt a sincere fear that their fight might be in vain. Like so many "revolutions" we saw in the past decade or so... Let's hope their destiny is going to be different...

News Of The Day - Uganda's Anti-Gay Bill To Be Signed

CNN

Dear World,
(parallelevision.files.wordpress.com)
Here we are, at the Point of no Return. We have to decide – either we are going to go forward as human kind, developing new ideas as well as technologies, or we are going back to the times called “simpler” by some, but in practice quite more complicated for a lot of us.

If we continue being silent on the backwards steps some of the countries are taking (India, Russia, etc.), soon these steps will be taken by our own countries and there will be no one left to help us fight!

Forget politics and concept of nationalities – we are one, when it comes to these important issues! React!

"First They came..." - Pastor Martin Niemöller

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Uppdate 21/2: All out has a campaign to stop the Anti-Gay Bill in Uganda, sign it!
